Do get the kids together with your imagination colours and shapes and start creating Playdough Masterpieces!
- 1/2 a cup of salt
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar (very important)
- 2 cups of water
- 1 tablespoon of food colouring
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Mix all the ingredients together in a medium size pot. You will need a wooden spoon and you should be able to mix it pretty fast. Turn the burner on to medium to cook the dough.
You want to stir the dough constantly. When is starts to get stiff and pulls away from the sides of the pots, it is ready. Turn out the dough onto a cookie sheet or waxed paper.
It may seem sticky but knead it when it cools and it will be just like the name brand dough. Very often I divide the recipe in half to make two different colours.
Store the play dough in an air tight container and it will keep for about 2 months. Have fun and enjoy!
